Technical Sourcer (Contract)

We’re looking for a Technical Sourcer (Contract) to join our Talent Team at MatX. This role is a contract role, but an exceptional performer could transition to a full-time role. You’ll be directly responsible for identifying and engaging exceptional engineering and technical talent. You’ll partner directly with hiring managers to hone in on needs, to fill the talent pipeline with the right talent to propel MatX forward.

What You’ll Do Here

• You’ll operate at the intersection of high volume, deep specialization, and exceptional quality of hire
• Find & engage technical talent to build our engineering teams – from evergreen roles, to rare/hybrid roles with a unique combination of skills – to help us double headcount in 2026
• Drive multiple complex searches simultaneously without compromising depth or quality.
• Develop creative sourcing strategies that uncover exceptional engineers others miss.
• Partner with hiring managers to refine requirements, identify signals, and raise the quality bar.
• Act as the ‘first touch’ with candidates, and the window into MatX - creating a first impression and setting the tone for the hiring process.

Who You Are:

• Have a proven ability to source the top engineering and technical talent in competitive markets (we’d love to see ~5+ years, but impact > years).
• Comfortable with high-volume, high-complexity technical searches — you stay focused, inventive, and proactive about hunting for talent
• Inventive - You’ve implemented novel or non-traditional pipeline building strategies in partnership with hiring leaders and team members
• Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and enjoy juggling multiple priorities
• Over-communicator -  You chase info, feedback, and decisions rather than waiting for the information to come to you. You develop strong relationships quickly with Engineering hiring managers.
• Skilled in research-driven sourcing: market mapping, building signal-based profiles, and tailoring outreach with precision
• Able to engage with crisp and compelling communication that resonates with technical audiences
• Motivated by creativity, curiosity, and a deep interest in engineering, AI, and how people build things
• This is a hybrid role that will require you to work from our Mountain View, CA office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday

• This is a contract role with negotiable payment terms (biweekly or monthly), paid hourly 
• This position has the potential to convert to a full-time (hybrid onsite) role
