Who We Are

Bluewater provides comprehensive and innovative solutions for managing the lifecycle of large format batteries and solar panels. As a startup committed to further developing a circular economy, we innovate in the reuse, recycling, and resale of EV, e-mobility, material handling equipment, and energy storage technologies to promote sustainability and resource efficiency. We’re on an exciting mission to reduce inefficiencies and enable a secondary marketplace for renewable energy equipment, and we’re doing it in an emerging segment of renewable energy where strong operators can set the standard for growth and innovation.

The Opportunity

Bluewater is looking to bring on a Technical Solutions Engineer to enable the Renewable Site Solutions team to solve renewable energy equipment replacement challenges. This includes identifying compatible alternatives when OEM parts are obsolete or discontinued, recommending equivalent products across manufacturers, and supporting complex repowering projects involving solar panels, battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgears, and other electrical components.

This is a highly collaborative role that not only helps drive sales conversion but also strengthens long-term relationships with site owners and operators who value technical problem-solving and product availability. In this role, you’ll partner with Sales and Operations teams to understand customer requirements, review equipment and project specifications, and recommend technical solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing site infrastructure and electrical systems.

Requirements

What You’ll Own

  • Own and maintain Bluewater’s centralized equipment database, ensuring technical specifications, documentation, compatibility information, and inventory records remain accurate and up to date

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive library of product datasheets, manuals, certifications, technical drawings, and other supporting documentation

  • Support Procurement by validating equipment specifications, evaluating technical compatibility, and assisting with sourcing decisions

  • Coordinate with OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and site owners to obtain technical documentation and resolve product-related questions

  • Manage and prioritize internal technical requests while tracking progress to ensure timely responses across Sales, Procurement, and Operations

  • Develop equipment compatibility matrices, cross-reference guides, and replacement recommendations for obsolete, discontinued, and legacy equipment

  • Provide technical support for customer proposals, complex repowering projects, and strategic sales opportunities

  • Train and support Sales and Procurement teams on equipment capabilities, technical differentiators, and product applications

  • Monitor market trends, product availability, equipment obsolescence, and emerging technologies to proactively identify replacement solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, equivalent technical experience, or relevant industry/product experience

  • 3-7+ years of experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects through an EPC, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), equipment distributor, manufacturer, or similar technical organization

  • Strong familiarity with utility-scale renewable energy equipment, including solar panels, inverters, BESS, transformers, and high-voltage electrical equipment

  • Experience identifying replacement equipment, evaluating product compatibility, or supporting equipment sourcing is highly preferred

  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple teams and with external stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Experience with CRM or ERP systems is a plus
