About the Role:

We are seeking a Technical Solutions Developer who brings a strong development mindset and deep Oracle expertise to design, build, and enhance enterprise software solutions. This is a hands-on technical role reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

This position is primarily development-focused, with selective collaboration on client requirements. The role centers on implementing complex database-driven solutions, extending product capabilities, and delivering high-quality technical outcomes within the Millennium development framework.

The ideal candidate is comfortable building new functionality, troubleshooting complex system behavior, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. It is a technical development role with ownership and impact.

The Role:

  • Design & Develop Oracle-Based Solutions: Build and implement client-specific and internal enhancements using Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL within the Millennium framework.
  • Own Development Lifecycle: Lead technical work from requirement interpretation through coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
  • Write & Optimize Complex SQL Code: Develop advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects with strong attention to performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot at the System & Database Level: Diagnose and resolve complex issues within web-based, database-driven systems, focusing on backend logic and data integrity.
  • Extend Core Product Capabilities: Contribute to baseline product improvements and architectural enhancements aligned with the technical roadmap.
  • Translate Functional Needs into Technical Solutions: Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into structured, maintainable development outputs.
  • Maintain Technical Documentation: Create clear and organized documentation to support system maintainability and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leadership: Partner closely with the CTO on development priorities, innovation initiatives, and long-term product strategy.

Qualifications for Success:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, Oracle development, or technical engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL (candidates with only MS SQL experience will not be considered).
  • Demonstrated ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and perform database performance optimization.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities at the database and application layers.
  • Development-oriented mindset with the confidence to build new solutions and explore technical improvements.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a high-ownership environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple technical initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner is preferred.
  • Experience with Millennium FAST is preferred.

The expected base salary for this position is: CAD $65,000 - $85,000 excluding annual bonus and equity (when applicable). Salary is based on several factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
