JOB DESCRIPTION :YOUR ROLE AS A :

Technical Services Engineer – System

AirAsia X is seeking a highly driven Technical Services Engineer – System to join our Engineering & Maintenance team!

In this role, you will support the safe and reliable operation of the AirAsia X fleet by providing engineering expertise related to aircraft mechanical and interior systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, developing engineering solutions, supporting compliance activities, and ensuring continuing airworthiness standards are upheld to meet regulatory and operational requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION :

The function and responsibilities are to develop, evaluate, and support aircraft systems engineering activities, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.

  • Provide technical support for aircraft interior and mechanical systems under ATA chapters 21, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 36.

  • Deliver effective and timely technical assistance to support aircraft operations and defect resolution.

  • Prepare and issue engineering instructions and technical documents in line with approved procedures and regulatory standards.

  • Liaise with OEMs, suppliers, regulators, and credible technical sources to analyse engineering issues and develop solutions.

  • Evaluate airworthiness data and provide sentencing recommendations for modification approval.

  • Develop approved engineering data for instructions related to inspection, repair, and modification beyond OEM manual scope.

  • Ensure all engineering documentation adheres to internal approval systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Support reliability analysis activities; perform root cause investigations and propose corrective actions for recurring technical issues.

  • Lead engineering studies to enhance dispatch reliability and recommend improvement actions.

  • Develop and maintain aircraft Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Flight Test Schedule (FTS).

  • Prepare Flight Condition Document (FCD), Permit to Fly (PTF), and Ferry Flight Clearance submissions to CAAM.

  • Manage and control EDTO Engineering Manual, monitor EDTO-related modifications, and review CMP standards.

  • Conduct EDTO review meetings and follow up on technical and operational action items.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure EDTO compliance and certification.

  • Support internal audits and corrective/preventive actions as part of compliance monitoring requirements.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Technical Services Manager.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline OR minimum 3 years relevant aviation experience.

  • Experience with Airbus aircraft preferred.

  • Familiar with technical publications, regulatory frameworks, and aviation engineering standards.

  • Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration capability.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Comfortable working outside normal hours to support urgent operational needs.
