Scrum Master
- Location: Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Adelaide (Hybrid options available)
- Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent
- Lead agile delivery teams in a nationally significant transformation program
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in a SAFe Agile environment
- Security Requirement: Due to the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens or individuals with active security clearance, or those who are eligible to obtain clearance.
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Scrum Masters to lead agile delivery teams as part of a large-scale transformation initiative. This role is embedded within a SAFe Agile Scrum team and is responsible for facilitating agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. You will work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Testers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of sprint goals and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Support backlog refinement and ensure clarity of user stories and acceptance criteria
- Coach team members on Agile principles and practices
- Identify and remove impediments to team progress
- Monitor team performance and support delivery of high-quality, incremental value
- Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Track and report on agile metrics to support transparency and decision-making
- Ensure alignment with SAFe Agile practices and contribute to agile maturity uplift
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in agile delivery environments, ideally within SAFe frameworks
- Strong understanding of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and team dynamics
- Experience facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and multiple stakeholders
- Experience using Azure DevOps (preferred) or similar tools such as JIRA
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience in large-scale transformation programs or complex multi-vendor environments
- Familiarity with agile metrics and reporting dashboards
- Exposure to revenue, taxation, or financial systems is advantageous
