This position reports to:
Project Operations Manager__
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will support the service organization within the Process Industries business line, part of ABB’s process automation division in the north Rhine-Westphalia region. You will serve as a key technical resource each day, providing expert support during the proposal phase and throughout the project lifecycle. You will also demonstrate your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of our automation solutions, developing cost estimates and supporting the final documentation and handover processes.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Supporting Sales and customers with technical advice, preparing and coordinating accurate, competitive proposals, and leading the technical clarification process as a key interface between Sales, Engineering, and customers
- Performing detailed analyses and diagnostic reviews to propose optimal automation solutions tailored to customer needs and project requirements
- Managing offer preparation, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, internal processes, and supporting the transition from sales to execution through documentation and technical briefings
- Driving achievement of targets including order intake, profitability, and customer satisfaction (Net Promoter Score), while fostering strong collaboration with all stakeholders
Qualifications for the role
- You have experience with automation solutions in process control technology; ideally, you are familiar with ABB control systems such as 800xA, AC800M, Freelance, or Melody
- You have practical experience in project development and implementation and bring fundamental knowledge of automation technology
- You are team-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong sense of technical and commercial responsibility for customer-oriented and economic project decisions
- A degree in industrial engineering, automation technology, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification completes your profile
- You are fluent in German and English
- You are willing to travel occasionally and have a driver's license
