Role Overview
The Technical Specialist is a technical sales professional responsible for driving adoption, expansion, and consistent execution of Autodesk’s core and mature solutions across Large, Midmarket, and Territory customers. This role operates within a hybrid engagement model, supporting both Autodesk led and Partner led sales motions. The position emphasizes scale, prioritization, repeatability, and enablement, enabling sellers and partners to consistently position and deliver Autodesk’s mature portfolio.
The Technical Specialist owns technical execution for mature solutions across a defined segment or region, serves as a trusted advisor to sellers and customers, and drives reuse of proven solution patterns. Success is measured by scalable impact, pipeline acceleration, increased consistency, and the ability to enable others through repeatable approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Advising & Technical Strategy:

  • Advise sellers and customers on solution approach, positioning, and adoption considerations

  • Balance customer specific needs with regional standards and pattern reuse

  • Advise customers on end-to-end workflows spanning ACC Docs, Build, and BIM Collaborate Pro, ensuring alignment between design, construction, and owner outcome

  • Provide technical guidance on integrated BIM + GIS strategies, including Civil 3D and ArcGIS-connected workflows for infrastructure and urban projects

  • Support customers in defining scalable cloud architecture strategies leveraging Autodesk Platform Services (APS/Forge) and Model Coordination capabilities

Discovery, Demonstrations & Enablement:

  • Lead complex discovery sessions and demonstrations across priority opportunities

  • Enable sellers and partners through consistent technical narratives, demo assets, and solution patterns

  • Lead advanced workflow demonstrations across Revit, Navisworks Manage, Civil 3D, and ReCap, positioning Autodesk solutions within real-world AEC use cases

  • Demonstrate connected project delivery using ACC (Docs, Build, BIM Collaborate Pro) to illustrate issue management, model coordination, and site-to-office data continuity

  • Showcase API-driven and platform extensibility use cases using Autodesk Platform Services (APS / Forge / MCP) to support enterprise customers and system integrators

  • Develop reusable demo assets illustrating BIM-to-field and BIM-to-owner workflows

Solution Design, Validation & Risk Mitigation:

  • Apply and refine scalable solution architectures and validation plans

  • Lead pilots and validations for higher impact regional opportunities

  • Document outcomes and reusable patterns for broader adoption

Commercial & Expansion Support

  • Identify cross sell and upsell opportunities based on discovery insights and adoption patterns

  • Support opportunity strategy and progression through technical clarity and alignment

Regional Enablement & Mentorship

  • Drive adoption of regional playbooks and reuse of technical assets

  • Design and validate scalable BIM and construction cloud solution architectures across design, coordination, and field management environments.

  • Mentor entry level specialists and contribute to ongoing enablement efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or a comparable customer facing technical role

  • Deep hands-on experience with Revit and Navisworks workflows across Architecture, Construction, and multidisciplinary coordination

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Platform Services (APS/Forge) and API-driven workflows

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (Docs, Build, BIM Collaborate Pro)

  • Strong AEC domain knowledge across relevant technical workflows and use cases
    Experience leading complex customer discovery and delivering scalable, repeatable demonstrations

  • Proven ability to design, validate, and refine solution architectures aligned to business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Familiarity with practical application of common BIM standards

  • Experience supporting partner led or hybrid sales motions at scale

  • Familiarity with Autodesk solutions, platforms, or adjacent design, engineering, or construction domains

  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior technical specialists

  • Demonstrated success driving enablement through playbooks, reusable assets.

Standardization

  • Experience collaborating with Product, PMM, or Engineering to provide structured feedback

  • Exposure to BIM-GIS convergence and infrastructure coordination workflows
