The Technical Sales Specialist has responsibility for understanding the technical and commercial requirements from prospective and existing customers. Specifically, duties include analyzing customer problems and resolving difficulties, making sales inquiries to develop new and existing business with OEMs while providing technical support for Renishaw metrology products: Calibration, Machine Tool, CMM, and Styli. Up to 60% travel is expected. Based out of Phoenix, AZ or Salt Lake City, UT.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Understanding customer’s technical requirements and specifications.
- Support of customers, troubleshooting and installations via phone, email communications, virtual (via Teams) or on-site visits.
- Generation of price quotations in response to RFQ’s from customers, internal sales leads, or Regional Sales Managers.
- Support Sales Administration team to ensure accurate order entry and customer satisfaction.
- Carry out support tasks, track sales activity.
- Identify targets for marketing activity and work with marketing teams to develop collateral.
- Attend Open Houses and Exhibitions to identify and develop sales opportunities.
- Keep up to date with product development and associated applications.

Qualifications
Education and Experience: Minimum
- 3+ years’ technical and sales support experience in Manufacturing, Quality Control, Metrology, CMM Programming or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Engineer Technology equivalent, or experience equivalent
- Ability to understand and comprehend engineering, electronic and mechanical principles
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) PC-DMIS metrology software, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R)
- This position may require the use of, and access to, ITAR controlled data. The applicant must demonstrate eligibility to use and access such ITAR controlled data. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws.
Education and Experience: Preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Six Sigma certification
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
- Experienced technical support management or technical support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as CRM, TEAMs.
- Identification of problems and troubleshooting of technical motion, automation, and robotic systems.
- Manual dexterity with the physical ability to install products in a normal production environment

Compensation Range (Annual)
Up to $110,000(depending on level and location)
