Position Summary/Objectives of Incumbent:

The prime purpose of this position is to provide pre-sales solutions support to the Australian and New Zealand market for critical infrastructure networks & projects with the application of Vertiv Power products where required supported with approved third party products and services.

Particular Expertise and /or Experience required for this position:

  • Qualifications in Electrical Power or Thermal design and applications
  • Experience with the design and applications of UPS units in data centres
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to PSA procedures and practices
  • Provide sales staff with technical assistance & support information on Vertiv product to assist with the sales activity
  • Review documentation submitted by Sales
  • Preparation of quotations for Sales comprising of:
    • Formal offer complete with compliance statements and costing schedules
    • Bill of materials (BOM) itemising products and service included in offer
  • Source quotes from third party product and services in support of offers
  • Completion of all work in a timely manner
  • Reconcile purchase orders on successfully won jobs and complete a job entry of the order as per Vertiv process
  • Complete profitability analysis when directed by the Senior Telecom Solutions Architect / Associate Director, PSA ANZ on costing offers
  • Management of products delivery and design for non-established products
  • Undertake product training as required and directed by management
  • Design Development and trial of DCP Power Solutions for key account customers
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation such as Drawings, Manuals and installation guides for newly developed products.
  • Assist the Telecom Solution Architects in the review of the proposal of vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are delivered at the least possible cost
  • Explain technical issues and DCP solution strategies to key stakeholders.

Education/Qualification:
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
Specialist Knowledge:
  • Market knowledge of products
  • Tender process and application of products
  • Good Understanding of the Telecom and industrial DC Power Industry
  • Good technical understanding and knowledge of the product to be supported
  • Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications
  • Knowledge of the application of Australian and international standards framework and industry codes
Practical Experience: 
  • Market Knowledge of DC Products and their application
  • Excellent technical understanding and knowledge of DC Products and concepts. 
  • Tender processes and the application of products to fit their requirements
  • An understanding of the Telecom and Industrial DC Power Industry
  • Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications. 
  • Proficient in technical writing. 
  • English writing and presentation skills 
  • ACAD drawing skills (Or alternative drawing software)
