Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our company as an Auckland-based Sales Representative, servicing both production facilities and distribution networks in markets such as automotive, marine and manufacturing. You will not be servicing customers in the construction sector. The territory will include customers in the Auckland and greater Auckland areas. In the future there may be the possibility of some regional travel.

What are we looking for?

You will be a people person who has the X factor, with an ability to engage and build solid and lasting relationships with people from all walks of life. You will be comfortable working alongside store owners and management one moment and end users the next. You are a capable self-starter who will relish the chance to look for sales opportunities as well as implementing sales promotions and supporting new product launches. More importantly, you will be an outstanding communicator and team player, who will enhance Sika’s service and support to stores by being a solution provider, as well as executing regular customer and end user trainings.

Due to the nature of the role, there may be a requirement for some out of town travel, with the possibility of an overnight stay. This could be due to customer events such as store openings or other promotional activities. During the year there will also be times where due to customer events you would be required to either start early or finish later than normal working hours.

Qualifications

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong sales skills
  • The ability to maintain and grow business with existing customers
  • Business development skills, with the ability to spot opportunities
  • Excellent attention to detail, always delivering on the promises you make
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to compete on areas other than price
  • Good computer literacy with the ability to use Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ideally you will have sales experience in a manufacturing/adhesive-related industry
