For this position, you will be employed by our parent company, Rohde & Schwarz Japan, giving you the stability and reach of a global technology leader, while working closely with the Zurich Instruments team and customers.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive sales across Japan, proactively identifying new opportunities and managing the sales process through to close
  • Understand each customer's measurement or research challenge and match it to the right Zurich Instruments solution
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to ensure long-term success
  • Organize and perform customer visits, engaging with researchers, principal investigators, and decision-makers
  • Represent Zurich Instruments at trade shows and conferences across Japan
  • Open up new business with academic and industry partners as we expand in the region

Your profile

  • A technical degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar combined with first sales experience, or a proven sales track record in a comparable technical market
  • Highly motivated and results-driven, with the determination to turn opportunities into wins
  • A strong communicator with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable engaging both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • A basic understanding of Quantum Computing or Test and Measurement applications, or the drive to learn them fast
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Japan for customer visits and events
  • Native-level Japanese and solid professional English, as you'll work closely with our Swiss headquarters

Skills Required

  • PhD or Master's in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Relevant background in quantum technologies
  • Solid scientific track record with practical lab experience
  • Programming experience with scientific instrumentation, preferable with Python
  • Sales experience or interest in developing sales skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Japanese
  • Good English skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and familiarity with basic marketing strategies
