Position Summary

As the Technical Sales Manager Japan, you will be reporting to the AAT Lead in Japan and your role is instrumental in navigating the intricate landscape of new product development and technical solution & sales, serving as a cornerstone for the team's success. You are a key element, providing invaluable expertise and insight that directly impacts our ability to secure and manage complex business deals.

Essential Duties and Responsabilities

  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate the technical aspects of our products or services to potential clients.

  • Translate complex technical information into compelling value propositions for diverse audiences.

  • Take ownership of opportunities quality 4 and 5 in the sales funnel, managing leads closer to the purchase decision.

  • Utilize metrics such as win rate in USD and win quality to evaluate and enhance performance.

  • Work closely with the AAT Lead, Regional Technical & Marketing teams to stay abreast of the latest technical advancements and insights.

  • Provide feedback from client interactions to contribute to the product development process.

  • Be responsible to establish sales development plan, channel development and maintain plan for personal care, and manage the sales budget.

  • Work along with the distributors to implement Vantage policy and strategy, with strong channel management.

  • Seek for potential customers and deep business opportunities to support the profitability growth of Vantage Japan.

  • Establish, maintain and develop profitable business relationships with existing and potential accounts in support of business plan objectives through excellent understanding of customers and market’ requirements and development needs.

  • Collect and analysis the market insight and competitor intelligence, including defining the market orientation, potential customer, advantages and disadvantages of the product.

  • Work closely with global Team Members on a regular basis for Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D and Applications / Tech Service

  • Establish and maintain good relationship with decision makers and key personnel at the strategic growth accounts such as Shiseido,KOSE, KAO.

Education & Experience:

Education: Bachelor degree or above in personal care technology, chemical engineering or related field would be preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, 3+ years sales experience in personal care or related industry would be preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Talents

  • Proven experience in technical selling, with a track record of successful engagements and conversions.

  • Better to have knowledge and experience in oil refining market and surfactant industry.

  • Able to maintain and build up high level customer relationship.

  • English as working language.

  • Demonstrates the flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment and tough competition.

  • Moves from strategy through planning to action and sets clear priorities based on highest value

Pay and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is: JPY $8,000,000 - $12,000,000 annually.  Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location.  This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
