Are you a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for customer engagement? Join Hitachi Energy as our Technical Sales Expert – Tap Changers and play a pivotal role in driving growth and innovation across North America.

In this role, you’ll lead the technical sales and product homologation efforts for our Alamo, TN-based transformer components portfolio. From identifying new opportunities to securing end-user approvals, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping our market presence and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead technical sales efforts from opportunity identification to order booking

  • Manage the full product homologation and end-user approval process

  • Provide expert technical support and product knowledge to customers and internal teams

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business goals

  • Coordinate product testing and documentation for regulatory compliance

  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and testing laboratories

  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify growth opportunities

  • Build strong relationships with end users to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback

  • This role requires up to 50% travel

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in transformer tap changers

  • Strong technical knowledge of transformer components and construction

  • Experience with homologation and regulatory compliance processes

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate across functions and work in a global environment

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
