Position Overview
We're looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to serve as the deep technical backbone of our Sales Engineering team. Our SEs are value engineers — they own the business case, run discovery, and lead the sales-facing relationship. This role exists to make sure they never have to go it alone on the hardest technical questions: security architecture, cloud infrastructure, data fabric, and system integration.
You won’t run the sales cycle. You’ll be the person the team calls in when a prospect’s CISO wants to talk encryption-at-rest, when an IT director wants to whiteboard the integration architecture, or when a technical evaluation needs someone who can speak fluently and credibly about how our platform is actually built. This is a highly technical, highly visible role — internally as the team’s go-to expert, and externally as the voice of technical credibility in our most complex deals.
Work Arrangement: Remote
This role requires the individual to be based in Flexible across U.S. time zones time zone
Responsibilities
Customer-facing technical expertise
- Join customer and prospect calls as the technical deep-dive resource when security, architecture, infrastructure, or integration questions exceed the SE’s scope or require specialist-level depth
- Lead or co-lead technical evaluation sessions on cloud architecture, security posture, data architecture, and system integration
- Respond to the technical sections of RFPs/RFIs — security questionnaires, architecture diagrams, compliance documentation, integration specifications
- Address security and compliance questions from prospects and clients (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, data residency, encryption, identity/access management)
Team Enablement
- Serve as the go-to technical resource for the entire SE team, regardless of which product pillar a given SE covers
- Build and maintain technical reference material (architecture diagrams, security FAQs, integration playbooks) the SE team can draw on independently
- Coach SEs on how to handle first-line technical questions themselves, escalating only what genuinely needs specialist depth
- Keep the team current as the platform’s underlying architecture, cloud infrastructure, or data capabilities evolve
Cross-functional & technical ownership
- Maintain deep working knowledge of our Microsoft Azure cloud environment, platform architecture, data fabric, and API/integration layer
- Partner with Product and Engineering to stay ahead of architectural changes, new integrations, and platform roadmap
- Liaise with Security, Compliance, and IT teams to keep customer-facing technical answers accurate and current
- Represent the technical function credibly in front of client IT, security, and infrastructure teams — often the most technical audience in the room
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years a technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or systems architecture role, ideally supporting enterprise SaaS sales to large/complex organizations
- Demonstrated experience answering deep technical questions from IT, security, and infrastructure stakeholders — not just product demos
- Experience across a full platform/technical stack rather than a single narrow specialty
- Strong, current knowledge of Microsoft Azure (architecture, security, identity, networking). Microsoft Azure certification preferred
- Working knowledge of data fabric / data architecture concepts and how they apply to enterprise SaaS platforms
- Solid grounding in cloud security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, data residency/privacy requirements)
- Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, and how enterprise systems connect to a SaaS platform
- Strong ability to read and explain architecture diagrams to both technical and semi-technical audiences
- Experience translating deep technical concepts into language a CFO, general counsel, or IT director can each act on
- Comfortable being the most technical person in the room without needing to own the sales relationship
- Strong collaborator — this role succeeds by making the whole SE team better, not by working in isolation
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to produce clear technical documentation
- Ability to travel up 25–50% as business needs require and for customer engagements
- Role requires the following physical capacity: Sedentary: primarily desk/computer work
- Must be legally authorized to work in United States; Elite does not provide employment sponsorship for this position
Benefits:
- Competitive Compensation Package ($157,500-$175,000 base salary + variable component)

- Retirement Savings Plan with an Employer Contribution
