Through a structured 6–12 month development program, located primarily in Chestnut Ridge NY, you will build deep technical expertise, develop consultative sales capabilities, and establish the foundation to grow into a high-impact member of our sales organization— ultimately advancing into a Field Sales Engineer role where you will lead strategic customer engagements, influence next-generation technology adoption, and drive measurable sales growth.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Territory Ownership

  • Upon successful completion of the Teledyne Sales Development Program, you will be fielded as a Sales Engineer and engage directly with customers in your assigned territory.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic account plans and play an active role in advancing key opportunities.
  • Prepare customer-facing materials such as proposals, quotations, technical value statements, and follow-up communications.
  • Build meaningful relationships with design, validation, and test engineering teams.

Technical Demonstrations & Solution Positioning

  •  Deliver compelling demonstrations of Teledyne LeCroy’s oscilloscopes, including high-speed serial test solutions, power integrity analysis, and automotive bus decoding tools, to both engineering teams and executive audiences.
  • Translate complex signal integrity, timing, power, and serial data concepts into clear and accessible explanations for diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Field Applications Engineers, Product Management, and Marketing to address customer requirements and emerging technology trends.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals, including circuits, signals, digital systems, and embedded/ECU-level architectures.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply high-speed serial test methods, oscilloscope measurement techniques, and emerging high speed serial electrical standards.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret waveforms, debug issues, and reason through complex system behavior.
  • Genuine interest in working at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement, and business development, with the ability to translate technical insights into customer value.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience gained through internships, co-ops, senior design projects, competitive engineering teams, or hands-on lab coursework. Practical experience with electronics, high-speed interfaces, and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers) is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Experience delivering technical content or demonstrating engineering concepts (classroom, lab, or project settings).
  • Exposure to automotive electronics, power electronics, and high-speed serial interfaces (PCIe, USB, DDR, and Ethernet).
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or measurement tools in lab or project environments.
  • Leadership experience in engineering teams, student organizations, or project-based environments.
  • GPA of 3.3 or higher preferred.

Candidate Profile

You are someone who:

  • Is passionate about technology and enjoys hands-on engineering work, but also thrives in roles that involve customer interaction, communication, and strategic thinking.
  • Is energized by autonomy, ownership, and building something meaningful—whether that’s territory growth, customer relationships, or long-term account success.
  • Enjoys solving technical problems and can explain complex engineering concepts in a clear, approachable way.
  • Is excited to contribute to next-generation power electronics, AI-enabled systems, IVN architectures, and high-speed digital design.
  • Willing to relocate to Chestnut Ridge, NY during the development program, and later to the assigned territory.
