Technical Sales Consultant

Location: Maryland Heights, MO
Job Type: Full-time, in-office
Salary: $55,000 per year + 10% annual incentive opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Sales Consultant to help turn opportunities into revenue. In this role, you will manage active quotes, follow up with customers, and move deals through the pipeline to close. You will also reconnect with past customers and identify new opportunities to grow the business.

This position works closely with outside sales and plays a direct role in revenue growth. If you enjoy building relationships, staying organized, and closing business, this is a strong fit.

What You’ll Do

Drive Sales Results

  • Manage and advance small to mid-size opportunities from quote to order
  • Follow up with customers to answer questions and guide purchasing decisions
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities

Pipeline and CRM Management

  • Keep the sales pipeline accurate and up to date
  • Track activity, update opportunities, and maintain clean CRM data
  • Monitor progress and ensure consistent follow-up

Prospecting and Account Growth

  • Reach out to cold or inactive customers to re-engage and generate new opportunities
  • Support growth within assigned sales territories

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with outside sales to support territory goals
  • Work with marketing, operations, and customer support to resolve issues and improve customer experience
  • Share insights on customer trends, risks, and opportunities

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on products, services, and industry trends
  • Participate in training and sales meetings
  • Contribute ideas to improve sales performance and customer engagement
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field, business, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of direct sales or customer-facing experience
  • Strong track record of following up on opportunities and closing sales
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and sales activity
  • Goal-oriented with a history of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Able to work well with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with consultative or value-based selling
  • Ability to analyze sales data and identify trends
  • Familiarity with pipeline management and forecasting

Work Environment

  • In-office role based at ECS headquarters
  • Standard business hours
  • Primarily desk and computer-based work
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
