Technical Report Writer

Exus Renewables North America is a next-generation Independent Power Producer that develops, owns, and operates renewable energy assets (Wind, Solar and Battery Storage) while providing world class asset management services for over 5 GW of renewable energy assets to third parties.  Exus has a proven track record of constructing and commercializing renewable energy assets and they are building their portfolio by acquiring and building utility-scale renewables projects and guiding those still in development through to full operational status.
As part of Exus’ asset management business, the firm undertakes full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide. Exus draws on its wide-ranging expertise to optimize technical performance, reduce financial risk, and ensure long-term revenue certainty for their own and their clients’ renewable energy assets.
Exus is seeking an Technical Report Writer that will be responsible for supporting the Asset Management and the Technical Operations teams to perform operational reporting duties tailored to specific customer and key stakeholder needs. This role will be responsible for generating operational reporting packages inclusive of technical details regarding the performance of renewable generating facilities, financial insights, and commercial aspects.
Please note: this is an onsite role with 4 days in office, 1 day remote, with reasonable flexibility in our downtown Pittsburgh office.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate data sources cross-departmentally to generate verbose operating reports capable of conveying the current state of operational facilities to key stakeholders and owner’s groups.
2. Manage all assigned operational reporting needs to include generating and validating routines, scheduled, and ad-hoc requests.
3. Create, modify, and develop reports and report templates using Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word in line with stakeholder requirements.
4. Develop and maintain reporting protocols, including sources of data, data validation and reconciliation, calculation methods for key performance indicators, commentary aggregation, and final review processes.
5. Maintain operational report distribution lists to ensure delivery to key stakeholders.
6. Recommend process, procedural, reporting, and system changes to improve function.
7. Suggest modifications to data sources, tables, and processes to automate reports and analysis.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or other technically related field. Masters preferred.
2. 2+ years’ experience as a technical report writer. Direct experience in renewables preferred.
3. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
4. Experience with Power BI.
5. Experience with analytics and automation of report file generation using Python and/or VBA is a plus.
6. Native or strong proficiency in English, speaking and writing.
