Nexus Cognitive is hiring a mid-level Technical Recruiter in Pune to own end-to-end recruiting for India-based technical roles, with a strong emphasis on modern data and cloud-native skill sets. This role will primarily support hiring for Platform Engineers and Big Data Developers, plus campus hiring for early-career technical talent.

What you will do

  • Run full-cycle recruiting for India-based requisitions: intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, debriefs, offer management, and closing.

  • Recruit for core roles, including:

    • Platform Engineers (cloud + Kubernetes + infrastructure automation)

    • Big Data Developers / Data Platform Engineers (data pipelines, distributed systems, open-source data ecosystem)

    • Campus hires (interns and new grads) for technical roles

  • Build sourcing strategies that target modern data profiles and relevant communities in Pune and across India.

  • Screen candidates for real-world experience with modern data stacks and patterns (not just resume keyword matching).

  • Partner with hiring managers to create clear scorecards and structured interview plans.

  • Maintain strong candidate experience through timely communication, preparation, and consistent feedback loops.

  • Track pipeline, hiring velocity, and conversion rates, and use data to improve quality and time-to-fill.

Must-have qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of technical recruiting experience (in-house or agency), with ownership of multiple concurrent roles.

  • Proven experience hiring for platform, data engineering, or big data roles in India.

  • Familiarity recruiting for modern data and cloud-native skill sets such as:

    • Data platform / big data: Iceberg, Kafka, Airflow, Trino, Spark, Hadoop ecosystem concepts

    • Cloud + infra: AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD

    • Governance/security concepts (helpful when recruiting for platform roles): Ranger, DataHub

  • Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, talent mapping, boolean search, outbound messaging).

  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to run crisp intake meetings.

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Experience building or running campus recruiting programs (relationships with colleges, event planning, coordination of interview days).

  • Experience recruiting for a services or delivery organization (client-facing technical talent).

  • Comfort hiring across both experienced and early-career talent simultaneously.

What success looks like (first 90 days)

  • Fill initial priority roles (Platform Engineer and Big Data Developer) with healthy pipeline conversion.

  • Establish a repeatable campus recruiting plan and calendar for targeted schools, events, and hiring steps.

  • Create clear market maps for Pune and key India talent hubs, including target companies and outreach messaging.

  • Build predictable weekly cadence with hiring managers: pipeline review, calibration, and fast debrief loops.
