Responsible for the currency and compliance of company manuals and publications, the Technical Publications Specialist reports to the Manager Publications & Operations Excellence and supports manual control, distribution, and tracking for the various departments and operations groups.

This position requires strong communication across all areas of Operations, with strong grammar and editing abilities.

Here’s what you’ll do

  • Maintain and update the master file of all company manuals, forms, and documents in the Company Manual System
  • Manage the currency, control, distribution, and tracking of Company manuals and publications
  • Create draft documents and coordinate revisions with manual owners
  • Create, format, and edit various company forms as necessary
  • Track and record revision transmittal documents from assigned manual holders
  • Issue and distribute bulletins to company manuals as required
  • Update and distribute manuals/documents to the web, mobile devices, synced servers, and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
  • Verify compliance with published procedures to identify any inconsistencies as deemed necessary per the Technical Style Guide (TSG)
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for creating, editing, and publishing manuals and documents
  • Review the impact of procedural changes to the manual content and amend the procedure(s) and/or process(es) as deemed necessary
  • Upon receipt of a revision or new (original) manual, ensure the revision has been accepted and/or approved, as applicable
  • Partner with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), IT, and stakeholders in various departments on cross-functional projects
  • Provide end-user support for manuals on the web and mobile devices
  • Support the Company read and sign program
  • Maintain established best practices
  • Identify and champion process improvements
  • Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence

Here’s what you need to be successful

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent educational achievement
  • 2 years of experience working in a publications environment or writing technical
    documentation
  • Detailed understanding of the format, layout, publishing and distribution
    process of electronic documents
  • Strong skills in the following programs - Microsoft Office 365 tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Reader Acrobat Professional
  • Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must be flexible and willing to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime if
    needed
  • Must be willing to work with other departments within the company as needed
  • Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with
    Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
  • Technical writing experience, preferably within a regulated industry
  • Experience working in an aviation regulatory environment, with a strong understanding of FAA Part 121 operations
  • Familiarity with creating and managing regulatory documentation
  • Experience in project management or coordinating cross-functional projects involving Leadership and regulatory stakeholders

 

Skills/Talents

  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of applicable compliance statements, i.e. IOSA, CFRs, DCTS, and associated regulatory/governmental regulations
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate to Leadership
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track, manage, and distribute technical publications accurately
  • Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to established best practices
  • Must be able to handle high-stress situations
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify and champion process improvements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals of diverse personalities and roles
  • Ability to multi-task easily, while meeting the demands of several different stakeholders
