Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies is growing! We are looking for a Technical Proposal Writer to support business development and marketing processes across multiple accounts. The candidate would provide technical writing support for various IT services proposals. In addition they would also develop and enhance existing marketing/proposal content. This position is a hybrid position with some in-person time at our office in Vienna, VA. 

Duties/ Responsibilities 

  • Collaborates with SMEs to develop compliant, compelling proposal content in response to Federal Government solicitations.
  • Writes technical, management, resume, and/or past performance volumes.
  • Works as part of a collaborative team to clearly articulate solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, win themes, and discriminators.
  • Applies communication and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.
  • Writes clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translates complex technical ideas into easily understandable text.
  • Support the project team in developing executive-level briefings and presentations
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; collects and communicates risks associated with proposals.
  • Keep a consistent style and writing standards, ensure technical accuracy, and devotion to documentation standards under tight deadlines
  • Must strive to develop new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity
  • Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings
  • Develop and engage in evaluating questions and responses to better understand the requirements and convey the summary to team decision makers.
  • Integrate proposal team products into the final proposal submission, perform technical editing of all proposal material.
  • Format proposal documents, produce the final proposal, and deliver the final proposal.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Federal/DoD proposal writing experience required
  • Experienced with MS Office products such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and others
  • Ability to analyze government requirements (SOW/PWS/RFP) and understand specific tasks and government expectations.
  • Experience utilizing similar content from past proposals and understanding technical capability areas, general approaches, personnel and tools/systems used.
  • Strong skills in interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather detailed insights and specific information on task execution.
  • Proven track record of assessing past performance and capabilities related to required tasks and documenting relevant examples.
  • Knowledge of incorporating customer intelligence and insights about the program, contract, or task area into proposal content.
  • Proficiency in developing clear, concise, and professional content that communicates the technical approach, adhering to page limits and solicitation guidelines.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills to produce high-quality proposal documents.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Prior experience in Federal proposal management

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • 3-5 years of Federal/DoD proposal writing experience
