The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Engineering Project Manager to oversee the development, documentation, and successful completion of engineering projects. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, gathering and defining requirements, ensuring quality control, and ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline tasks, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
    • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, design, QA, etc.) to ensure alignment and smooth workflow.
  • Requirements Gathering and Documentation:

    • Work closely with stakeholders (internal and external) to gather project requirements.
    • Document and maintain clear and detailed project specifications, technical requirements, and functional requirements.
    • Ensure all documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to all relevant team members.
  • Project Execution and Monitoring:

    • Lead project execution, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within scope.
    • Monitor project progress, adjust plans as necessary, and troubleshoot issues that arise.
    • Track and report on project performance, deliverables, and risks.
  • Team Leadership and Communication:

    • Foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong communication channels.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management on project status and key metrics.
    • Lead and motivate team members to ensure high performance and timely delivery.
  • Quality Assurance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure that all project deliverables meet established quality standards.
    • Identify potential risks early and develop mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or failures.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, as applicable.
  • Project Completion and Handover:

    • Oversee final project review and ensure all deliverables are completed to specifications.
    • Prepare comprehensive post-project documentation and transition plans.
    • Lead project post-mortems to analyze successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3-5  years of experience in engineering project management, including experience with documentation and requirements management.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, tools, and software.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying complexities and timelines.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear documentation.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of agile project management methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, with a focus on team collaboration and motivation.
