Job Description
Summary: As a Technical Project Manager at Cboe Europe you will be leading a variety of key complex software technology projects for our pan-European equities and derivatives markets, alongside other exciting technology, risk, cyber and operations initiatives such as strengthening our Operational Resiliency. Supported by your deep understanding of our business domain and technology, you will be providing in-depth insight and leadership across all phases of very technical cross-functional projects that will have a genuine impact on the European trading ecosystem.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Driving the definition of European roadmaps with senior management, product and technology teams.

Actively managing the day-to-day delivery of key roadmap level projects, in addition to smaller initiatives, from inception through to production, ensuring all project lifecycle artefacts / ceremonies are completed to a high standard.

Leading cross-functional meetings throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring stakeholders and team members are aligned and complex topics such as requirements ambiguity and technical design decisions are tracked and subsequently resolved, exercising sound judgement on when to escalate to senior management.

Partnering closely with Product Managers and Software Engineering Managers to ensure product requirements are documented with rigor and in sufficient detail for technology teams to implement.

Providing transparency of project progress, risks, issues and dependencies on a regular basis, tailored based on the audience ranging from project team status meetings, steering committees up to board level meetings.

Contributing towards driving operational stability by ensuring teams learn lessons from outages and deliver on follow up actions.

Contributing towards project artefacts such as requirements documents, externally facing technical specifications and technical guidance notes, in addition to looking for opportunities to improve our products.

Collaborating with the project management team globally to refine our project management best practice and processes to improve our ability to execute.
The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or other related field.

Strong track record of leading significant software project delivery from inception through to production.

Strong understanding of equites and/or derivatives markets.

Aptitude to learn our technology stack at an architectural / logical level to challenge team assumptions, contribute towards project artefacts and engage in detailed discussions with product and technology teams.

Excellent oral communication skills; able to adjust level of detail to suit audience, describing detailed problems with brevity and accuracy.

Excellent written communication skills; able to produce technical documents, reports, slides etc. with accuracy and care, showing attention to very technical details.

Assertiveness and influencing skills; able to ensure items are discussed, decisions made, agreed and documented in a timely manner.

Understanding of working in a highly regulated, operationally efficient and stable environment.

Data analytics skillset e.g. SQL, Sigma, Tableau or similar.

Programming skillset e.g. Python or similar.

Linux/Unix based systems skillset.
