We are currently looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the Project Management Office and help build and scale our Consulting Delivery function.
What exactly will you do?You will manage big data, cloud engineering, and machine learning projects for our EMEA customers.
More precisely, you will:- Lead end-to-end customer projects, ensuring a seamless experience from kick-off to project closing. This involves, among other things, managing the project and team day-to-day, handling customer communications, resolving escalations, and identifying opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and drive value creation.
- Ensure the overall project success by ensuring the scope, objectives, deadlines, and budget are met for a complex customer portfolio. This involves, but is not limited to, taking the lead on customer interactions, coordinating stakeholders, documenting and administering project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource allocation in collaboration with other internal teams, such as Sales, Engineering, and AI.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks; resolve customer issues and complaints; and manage the timely escalation of complex cases.
- Initiate and drive cross-functional internal projects to improve delivery efficiency or the customer experience.
- Champion a customer-centric, solution-driven culture within DATAPAO and promote a customer-first mindset across all project teams.
- Establish standards and ensure compliance with project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- You have a proven track record of managing complex, software-adjacent projects - ideally within data engineering, AI, or cloud infrastructure. You are highly technical and comfortable navigating the intricacies of the SDLC. Hands-on software development experience is a big plus.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders, regions, and functions (e.g., data migrations or enterprise-level transformations).
- Strong interpersonal skills, assertiveness, curiosity, and strategic influencing, meaning that you can build relationships and trust across all levels and audience types.
- You're results-driven and committed to high-quality service. At DATAPAO, we practice an outcome-driven mindset and believe world-class consulting can only be achieved by striving for excellence in everything we do.
- You demonstrate strong ownership, responsibility, and accountability, so you can work and prioritize (under pressure) between concurrent requests and projects, are highly independent in your work, and bring in a solution-driven mindset. These traits are must-haves for this role and at this seniority level. As PM, you are responsible for overall project success.
- You're particularly good at conflict resolution, rallying various parties toward a common goal, and pivoting on the go. After all, this is a relationship business that moves with high velocity.
- You're passionate about delivering enviable customer experiences, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Proven knowledge and track record with project management frameworks and CRM tools/methods (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, SFDC, Productive, Asana, Google Sheets, and Slides).
- Professional fluency in written and verbal English (acquired, preferably, by working with a Western European client base).
- Project management certification (e.g. PMP or PRINCE2) is a definite plus.
- Educational benefits: There’s no shortage of learning opportunities at DATAPAO, meaning that you'll get access to Databricks' public and internal courses to learn all the tricks of Distributed Data Processing, MLOps, Apache Spark, Databricks, and Cloud Migration from the best. Additionally, we'll pay for various data & cloud certifications. You'll also get dedicated time for learning during work hours and access to our internal library.
- Flexible PTO and Working Hours: We’re flexible about your working routine and how many days you take off if it does not conflict with customer success, company goals, and the work you do.
- Flexible Office: It is up to you which days you spend in the office. However, as a strong community is one of DATAPAO's value propositions, we’d expect you to spend one day per week in the office on average.
- 30 Calendar Days of Paternity Leave (if applicable): We think it’s essential for both parents to be there when it matters the most.
- Private Medical Insurance: We provide a private medical package via Generali.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Through EAP, we offer our employees access to psychological, financial, and legal consulting services via phone or in person.
- Top-notch working equipment: Working comfortably means working well. Therefore, you will get a MacBook, a Herman Miller office chair, standing desks in the office, and whatever else is needed to give your best.
- The chance to make an impact in a high-transparency culture: Open feedback and a no-politics environment are things we value a lot at DATAPAO. Additionally, you'll get the chance to shape the future of a rapidly growing tech company, to work with cutting-edge technologies, and to help some of the biggest and most innovative companies in the world sort out their data puzzles.
- A cozy and modern office in the heart of Budapest: Located in a vibrant, central part of the city (Opera/Oktogon), it's designed to foster focus, creativity, and team connection. You'll find open spaces for group work, quiet corners for deep thinking, and plenty of natural light. It’s well-stocked with snacks, drinks, coffee, and beverages. Optional Friday evening beers, movie, and wine-tasting nights with the team are also on us.
For this role, our gross monthly salary ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 HUF, depending on your assessed seniority level during selection.
