Job Description

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in Austria, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our Data Centre team in Vienna. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex projects and programs as a client interface
  • Coordinate and mentor a small project team to ensure effective delivery and high performance.
  • Developing working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
  • Managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
  • Managing project safety and environmental requirements
  • Managing project timelines, risks and reporting
  • Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track
  • Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
  • Working closely with project team/s to ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents

Qualifications

  • Degree in a Construction Management a related field
  • Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS
  • Professional/tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction
  • A minimum of 7 years project management experience, gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • Experience in managing or leading teams would be highly valued.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken German and English 
  • Commitment to work on site for 4 days a week

Additional Information

The minimum collective agreement salary (as per Austrian Collective Agreement) for this position €53,487 gross per year. However, we would like to explicitly point out that overpayment is planned in accordance with your expertise and professional experience.
