OverviewWaypoint Trading Solutions (a Transaction Network Services business) is seeking a talented and motivated Technical Project Manager with experience deploying physical network infrastructure, cross-connects, and long-haul circuits in a data center/managed hosting environment. This position is open only to candidates who are living in Hungary and are authorized to work in the EU. The successful candidate will have the option of working fully remotely, from Waypoint's Budapest office, or in a hybrid working arrangement.The Project Management team is responsible for leading cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals on time. Occasional after-hours work will be required.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilitiesEssential responsibilities include:
Effectively apply PMO methodology to plan, execute, monitor, and control assigned projects to deploy physical network infrastructure, cross-connects, and long-haul circuits in a data center/managed hosting environment.
Create and maintain the required project documentation in all systems, such as Salesforce, SharePoint, and Remedy.
Keep project records and all impacted stakeholders updated with the latest status and expected completion date.
Ensure project documents and related database records are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Complete the project Operational Readiness Review with the Network Operations Center team.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with multi-week to multi-month lifecycles.
Collaborate with Product Management, Capacity Planning Management, Network Engineering, Network Architecture, Logistics, Facilities, internal and external Field Services personnel, vendors, and occasionally external clients to ensure projects are delivered within the designated SLA.
Escalate issues when needed to deliver projects on time.
Track risks and proactively create contingency plans.
Follow all processes and procedures, identify lessons learned, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Occasionally attend after-hours maintenance activities, as required for project delivery (installations, migrations, etc.).
Experience deploying physical network infrastructure, cross-connects, and long-haul circuits in a data center/managed hosting environment.
Familiarity with network switches, routers, firewalls, servers, DWDM equipment, and cable/SFP types.
Familiarity with financial exchange services, such as market data and order entry/trading.
Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, proactive approach, and the ability to build effective working relationships with project teams and management, influence decisions, and complete projects within agreed SLAs.
Very good spoken and written English skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, IT/Computer Science, or a related field.
Ability to successfully manage exchange-mandated projects and meet all published milestone dates.
Ability to manage highly complex internal migration and consolidation projects involving both physical and logical work.
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
