Technical Project Manager & Onboarding Specialist 

Location: Scottsdale, AZ 
Department: Professional Services / Sales 

Position Description: 

The Technical Project Manager & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for managing customer implementation and onboarding projects from initiation through completion. This role bridges the gap between technical delivery and customer experience—ensuring new clients are successfully deployed, trained, and fully enabled to use our solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional communication skills, and can translate complex technical concepts into actionable project plans for customers and internal teams. This position is based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office.  Only applicants who reside in the local area will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Project Management: 

  • Lead multiple concurrent customer onboarding and implementation projects, ensuring on-time, in-scope, and on-budget delivery. 
  • Develop detailed project plans, milestones, timelines, and risk assessments. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Track and report project progress, dependencies, and key deliverables to internal stakeholders and customers. 
  • Identify and resolve project blockers, ensuring a smooth and transparent delivery experience. 

Customer Onboarding & Enablement: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during onboarding—guiding customers through configuration, deployment, and training. 
  • Conduct onboarding calls, product walkthroughs, and technical setup sessions. 
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless handoff from contract signature to active use. 
  • Document customer requirements and tailor onboarding plans to meet their goals and environment. 
  • Ensure customers achieve defined success milestones and are positioned for long-term retention. 

Technical Coordination: 

  • Collaborate with technical teams to design, test, and validate system configurations or integrations. 
  • ​​​​​​​Troubleshoot and resolve onboarding-related technical issues. 
  • Maintain knowledge of product capabilities, APIs, and technical integrations. 
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to Product Management for continuous improvement. 

Process Improvement: 

  • Contribute to developing standardized onboarding templates, checklists, and best practices. 
  • Identify opportunities to optimize project workflows and automation. 
  • Support internal training and knowledge-sharing across teams. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management, technical onboarding, or implementation roles. 
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand SaaS environments, APIs, and integrations. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. 
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). 
  • PMP, CSM, or similar certification is a plus. 
  • Experience in cybersecurity, SaaS, or IT services environments required.
