The Technical Project Manager (TPM) will support the successful delivery of the Active Directory (AD) Modernization Program by coordinating technical workstreams related to Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, identity integrations, and migration activities. The TPM will combine technical understanding of AD and Identity & Access Management (IAM) with project management discipline to coordinate planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. The role is expected to dedicate a significant capacity to the program management activities for AD migration.
Day to day responsibilities
- Coordinate planning, execution, and delivery of AD migration workstreams across technical and business teams.
- Track and manage technical deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
- Facilitate collaboration between delivery and client teams that may include SMEs from IAM, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, OT, Application Owners, and EUC.
- Support migration planning for users, groups, workstations, servers, applications, and identity integrations.
- Coordinate technical workshops, migration readiness reviews, cutover planning, and post-migration activities.
- Monitor project progress, resource utilization, and schedule adherence while supporting Agile and waterfall delivery activities.
- Support preparation of executive status reports, governance meetings, and steering committee materials.
- Coordinate change management activities, change requests, and production implementation schedules.
- Ensure technical decisions, assumptions, risks, and dependencies are documented and communicated to stakeholders.
- Support vendor coordination and integration activities involving Microsoft Entra ID, Semperis, Saviynt, CyberArk, Splunk, and related identity technologies.
Essential traits
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity, authentication, and directory services.
- Working knowledge of Identity & Access Management concepts including SSO, MFA, Federation, PAM, and IGA.
- Experience coordinating infrastructure, application, and security workstreams within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong project management skills including planning, scheduling, RAID management, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting.
- Experience managing dependencies across multiple technical teams and third-party vendors.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and migration wave planning.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 7–10+ years of project management experience supporting enterprise infrastructure or identity transformation programs.
- Experience delivering Microsoft AD, Microsoft Entra ID, or hybrid identity modernization projects for global organizations.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Microsoft Identity, Azure, or Entra certifications are desirable.
- Experience working within highly regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, manufacturing, or life sciences.
- Familiarity with identity technologies including Semperis, Saviynt, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft ecosystem tools is preferred.
