To support our growth in autonomous robotic systems for defense, we're looking for a Technical Program Manager to own the execution of our internal engineering roadmap. In this role you will be accountable for delivering cross-team engineering programs on time by coordinating our product verticals and shared core teams, managing dependencies, and driving prioritization of shared engineering capacity. This is an internally-focused role: you will not own customer relationships or contracts, but you will ensure that the engineering organization delivers the technical foundations those programs depend on. You will work most closely with engineering Directors, team leads, and the VP of Engineering.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Own the delivery of the internal engineering roadmap, translating product and program needs into sequenced, executable plans across software, hardware, and shared core teams.
- Run the demand-intake and prioritization process for shared core teams, producing a single ranked set of priorities and protecting committed capacity from ad-hoc disruption.
- Identify, track, and resolve cross-team dependencies and blockers before they escalate, with particular focus on the core teams that serve multiple verticals.
- Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, and risk registers across engineering, integration, and testing, using agile and traditional methodologies as appropriate.
- Establish and run the engineering operating rhythm, planning cycles, status reporting, risk reviews, giving leadership clear visibility into delivery health.
- Surface capacity shortfalls and resourcing trade-offs to engineering leadership with the data to support staffing or scope decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement in how the engineering organization plans and delivers, feeding execution learnings back into roadmap planning.
- Partner with the contract/customer-facing program managers to translate external commitments into internal engineering plans, without owning the customer relationship directly.
Qualifications and Skills
- MSc, MEng, or equivalent with a strong technical background in robotics, embedded systems, or complex HW/SW products.
- 5+ years of technical program or delivery management experience in an engineering organization.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple engineering teams and managing cross-team dependencies, ideally including shared platform/core teams.
- Strong grasp of both agile and traditional planning methods, and the judgment to apply each appropriately.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills; able to drive prioritization and resolve conflict across teams without direct authority.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or another regulated HW/SW domain is a plus.
- Familiarity with export controls and cybersecurity requirements is a plus.
- CH / EU citizenship required.
Benefits
- Flexible working hours
- Stock Options
- Generous holiday allowance
- Company pension plan
- Car parking
- Enhanced maternity & paternity leave
- Mental health and wellbeing support

What We Do
At Auterion we care about providing enterprise with an ecosystem of software-defined drones, payloads, and third party applications within a single easy to use platform based on open-source standards. We’re leaders in an open-source movement bigger than ourselves and we’ve been on the same mission for over a decade, since our co-founder Lorenz Meier created Pixhawk, MAVLink, QGC, and PX4 (the world’s most widely used open-source drone autopilot operating system). Our mission is to be the drone platform of choice for enterprise, government, and drone manufacturers while accelerating the drone industry by driving forward open standards to create a common, future-proof roadmap in a thriving, open ecosystem of buyers and vendors. At Auterion, we bring together the sharpest minds who love to solve the hardest problems.
