Position Overview

The Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) Technical Program Manager (TPM) role is a critical position, ensuring that engineering teams achieve key business outcomes. Our TPM works across the PSET domain areas to formulate and deliver technical solutions, taking responsibility for complex programs and initiatives from planning through execution. This includes delivery forecasting, managing risks, dependencies, and ensuring alignment with stakeholders. In this role, you will engage with cross-functional teams, other Autodesk divisions, or external partners to drive key aspects of technical solutions, strategic planning, and address cross-team dependencies and relationships.

As the ideal candidate, you possess strong technical expertise and the ability to influence both leaders and peers. You have a bias toward action, champion business outcomes over merely performing development activities, and proactively manage stakeholders while building relationships with customers. You thrive in collaboration, working as an "equal partner" with engineers, architects, product managers, experience designers, and product owners. You are also an Agile practitioner with deep expertise in supporting and enabling engineering teams.

You will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Programs. This is a hybrid position based in Pune.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate alignment between teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders. Drive cross-organizational initiatives through OKR planning, dependency management, and impediment removal. Demonstrate expert understanding and application of OKR principles, continuously refining guidance and processes to facilitate team discussions

  • Manage stakeholders and communications. Serve as the communication focal point for complex programs and initiatives, collaborating with other Autodesk teams and division leadership. Provide both executive and team-level status reports on initiative progress, risks, and achievements

  • Plan and ensure delivery. Engage with engineering leadership and teams to develop clear delivery plans. During the execution phase, track progress across multiple sprints and engineering teams, refining the plan as needed, and communicating with stakeholders regarding progress toward goals

  • Focus on removing impediments by supporting engineering teams in exception handling. Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts to address potential roadblocks, reduce waste, optimize delivery, and improve team satisfaction with the delivery process. Lead cross-functional development teams in providing technical solutions from design through delivery. Automate delivery processes that span design, development, and operations, creating transparency and a single source of truth

  • Be an agent of change. Drive continuous improvement and our science-based, Kaizen culture by leading changes through retrospectives and "lessons learned" exercises

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams on highly complex initiatives involving multiple teams, using traditional and Agile methodologies

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, Software Architect, or a similar role

  • Demonstrable knowledge of systems/cloud services and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Strong technical background, detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving abilities

  • A passion for process and operational excellence

  • A desire to continue learning and challenging yourself

  • Outstanding relationship-building and influencing skills

  • Ability to leverage technical tools to scale programs and solutions
