Job Title
Technical Program Management, DirectorAbout your role:
As a Technical Program Management Leader, you will lead enterprise platform engineering programs that span cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, shared services, security, reliability, and application delivery. You will partner with engineering leaders, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate platform strategy into executable roadmaps, manage complex technical dependencies, and deliver secure, scalable, resilient capabilities. Your work will improve developer productivity, operational reliability, engineering standards, and the speed at which Fiserv delivers technology solutions.
The programs may include cloud and data center platforms, container orchestration, infrastructure automation, continuous integration and delivery, observability, identity and access management, service reliability, platform security, and modernization of shared technology services.
What you'll do:
- Lead large-scale platform engineering programs from architecture and planning through implementation, migration, production readiness, and operational adoption across infrastructure, security, developer experience, product, and application teams.
- Align platform roadmaps, architecture decisions, technical milestones, capacity requirements, budgets, risks, and cross-platform dependencies with enterprise technology strategy and measurable engineering outcomes.
- Establish technical governance for architecture reviews, engineering standards, security and compliance controls, release readiness, service-level objectives, operational acceptance, and escalation paths.
- Provide senior leaders with visibility into roadmap progress, platform adoption, deployment performance, reliability, capacity, security risks, technical debt, critical dependencies, and remediation plans.
- Facilitate decision-making across stakeholder groups with competing priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate production readiness and platform adoption activities, including migration planning, performance and resilience validation, security reviews, disaster recovery, operational runbooks, support readiness, go-live criteria, and post-launch adoption tracking.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience through self-service capabilities, standardized delivery pipelines, reusable platform services, infrastructure as code, automated controls, and measurable reductions in delivery friction.
- Develop program management standards, templates, and delivery practices that support consistent execution across programs.
- Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
Experience you'll need to have:
- 12+ years of experience in program management or project management leading enterprise-level initiatives across business, product, and technology teams.
- 8+ years of experience managing complex technology programs involving cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, distributed systems, infrastructure automation, continuous delivery, observability, cybersecurity, service reliability, or enterprise platform modernization.
- 8+ years of experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models to complex engineering programs, including architecture decision tracking, release planning, dependency management, capacity planning, risk remediation, and production-readiness governance.
- Experience translating architecture tradeoffs, reliability concerns, security risks, technical debt, capacity constraints, and delivery dependencies into clear decisions and recommendations for executive leadership, architecture councils, steering committees, or governance forums.
- Experience developing consolidated program plans, milestone reporting, resource views, and remediation plans for complex initiatives.
- Working knowledge of cloud architecture, APIs, distributed systems, networking, identity and access management, container platforms, infrastructure as code, observability, software delivery pipelines, and site reliability engineering practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, technology, finance, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience delivering platform engineering capabilities in payments, banking, financial technology, or another regulated industry with stringent security, availability, resilience, auditability, and data-protection requirements.
- Experience supporting platform portfolio management, technical roadmap planning, engineering capacity planning, cloud cost optimization, lifecycle management, or modernization investment decisions.
- Experience with tools used for engineering roadmaps, architecture documentation, source control, continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure automation, observability, service management, dependency tracking, and delivery governance.
