Summary:
The Technical Product Support Engineer (TPS) will work as a part of the Implant Global Product Support (GPS) team in the Semiconductor industry for Applied Materials. This position will be based in Germany, but will require travel to any of our customers in Europe. This person will participate and support New Product Introduction (NPI), First in Fab tool installations and field/Customer escalations. This job will require face to face interaction with AMAT field service personnel as well as Customers, to include: Equipment, Process and Section Managers. In addition they will adhere to all Applied Materials safety protocols, work off shift hours, travel and carry out basic/intermediate level troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and support product introduction and first in fab tool installations in the field
- Travel to customer sites on short notice for Machine down, upgrades and retrofits
- Support technical escalations conference calls
- Must be able to work off shift hours and weekends when required
- Has developed advanced specialized expertise within a analytical/scientific area to perform the most complex work
- Create presentations, tables & charts using PowerPoint & Excel to communicate project/issue status to AMAT Factory and Customer personnel
- Has a good understanding of how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives
- Will need to take on the team leadership role during onsite projects and escalations to include: facilitate conference calls, provide daily status reports, and provide subject matter guidance to more junior team members
- Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent
- Exchanges ideas and information effectively; uses tact and diplomacy when dealing with others
Additional:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED, Trade School is a plus
- Experience: >2 years VIISta Implant experience preferred, 4 - 7 Years semiconductor. Compensation will accommodate experience
- Hours: 1st Shift Monday to Friday F 8am – 5pm
- Travel greater than 50%
