Technical Product Owner

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Product Owner to join our team at Mastercard (Product Manager – Technical job family). This pivotal role supports the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for our dedicated software engineers, focusing on defining and driving the product vision and strategy for the KPI ecosystem. This robust product, designed for recording and reporting essential metrics like DORA, SPACE, DevEX, and GSM, plays a vital role in our mission.
As a Technical Product Owner, you'll ensure that our product aligns with Mastercard's business goals, meets the diverse needs of stakeholders, and delivers a seamless, valuable user experience. You will oversee integration and onboarding processes, manage the product backlog, and inspire a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and guide the product from conception to launch, seamlessly merging technical and business aspects.
- Gather and break down requirements into compelling features and user stories.
- Prioritize the backlog and establish clear acceptance criteria, ensuring a well-groomed backlog is always ready for the engineering team.
- Champion the reuse of building blocks and inspire continuous innovation for our customers.
- Deeply understand customer use cases, jobs to be done (JTBD), pain points, and essential tools.
- Collaborate with and support Product Directors and VPs to keep the strategic product roadmaps vibrant and aligned with customer needs.
- Track product usage, quality, and satisfaction metrics to inform dynamic product roadmap decisions.
- Lead the charge for adoption among software engineers to enhance efficiency and elevate throughput.
Qualifications:
- Around 15 years of experience in software engineering and product ownership, driving impactful innovations.
- Masterful at crafting detailed user stories and defining acceptance criteria that elevate projects.
- Rich experience with Agile Scrum practices and ceremonies, fostering collaborative success.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, consistently delivering innovative solutions.
- Experience in scaling cloud-native software products, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements.
- Embraces independence and autonomy, with the power to influence stakeholders.
Preferred:
- A robust foundation in software development, leveraging DevOps or DevSecOps practices in the dynamic SaaS landscape.
