Purpose of the role

To collaborate with product owners and other technical teams involved in the product development process and utilise their knowledge of the bank’s technologies to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of subject matter expertise to support the collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
  • Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on business value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
  • Development and implementation of assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
  • Monitoring of product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets the banks performance standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.

  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.

  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.

As a Technical Product Owner, you will be at the heart of transforming product vision into reality. Partnering with Product Owners and technical teams across the organisation, you will use your experience in banking technology to guide the development of scalable, resilient, and innovative solutions. Your ability to align technical delivery with strategic goals will be critical in ensuring our products continue to evolve and meet the needs of our customers and the wider business.

 

This role is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of complaints-related data products, defining and delivering trusted, regulatory-compliant data capabilities that enable effective customer outcomes, reporting, and insight. 
Operating at the intersection of business, data, and technology, the role translates regulatory obligations and stakeholder needs into outcome-led data products. The role owns product vision, roadmap, and prioritisation, working with cross-functional teams (engineering, reporting, and business stakeholders) to deliver scalable and reusable data products. The key focus is driving value through improved complaint insight, root cause analysis, regulatory reporting, and customer experience optimisation alongside customer journeys, ensuring that complaints data is accurate, timely, and actionable.

By establishing high-quality, well-governed, and reusable complaints data products, you will be helping to create opportunities to power AI-driven insight, automation, and decisioning.

 

To be successful as a Technical Product Owner, you should have experience with:

  • Past Product Ownership or Product Management experience

  • Cross-functional communication and stakeholder management

  • Creating and refining user stories, as well as backlog management

 

Some other highly valued skills may include

  • Experience with Complaints data, journeys, or operations 

  • Creation, and communication of Product Vision to Delivery Teams

  • Risk and Control / Governance experience

The location of this role is Northampton / Knutsford.
