We are recruiting for a Technology Product Owner (TPO) – Advanced Therapies (AT) Quality Control (QC) Lab Systems role with the preferred location in Beerse or Ghent in Belgium or Leiden or Sassenheim in The Netherlands. This role defines the technology lab strategy, product roadmaps, and digital capabilities that will successfully deliver solutions aligned with the AT digital strategy and related AT business objectives and key results.
This role serves as the primary technology partner for the global AT QC teams while owning the AT QC Labs strategic vision, business planning, product delivery, and operational excellence across the Global AT QC business. In addition, this role engages cross-functional product-focused teams to deliver GxP-compliant, secure, scalable, and AI-enabled solutions that support the AT and JJT digital strategy. In addition, his role will drive the adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and AI/GenAI digital capabilities as part of our Technology Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:Product Strategy and Investment PlanningOwn the AT QC Labs product strategy in partnership with business partners
Define the strategic digital capabilities that maximize business value creation
Lead the AT QC Labs investment planning (i.e. Long Range Financial Planning (LRFP) and Business Planning (BP)) cycles to ensure funding and resources are allocated to deliver against the AT QC Labs strategic roadmap
Own AT Labs & LIMS intake and demand management for AT QC labs, serving as the primary entry point for site and program-driven requests
Perform ongoing prioritization of demand versus in-flight work, balancing business value, technical feasibility, regulatory risk, and available budget
Drive structured follow-up with sites and stakeholders to close gaps during requirements gathering, development and testing review cycles, and operational support
Ensure all demand is appropriately sized, documented, and aligned to product roadmaps and sprint plans
Ensure appropriate software delivery methodologies are in place to deliver quality IT solutions tied to business Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Provide AT QC Labs and LIMS delivery status and timeline updates during the weekly integrated planning forums, with a strong focus on early signal detection
Actively listen for and assess cross‑program initiatives that may introduce unidentified AT QC Labs and LIMS impact
Partner with cross-functional delivery squads (i.e. MES, ERP, etc.) to ensure dependencies, risks, and assumptions are understood and managed within sprint execution
Represent AT LIMS in recurring governance and planning forums to proactively identify risks, overlap, and timing impacts
Facilitate change control, risk management, and impact assessments, ensuring alignment with validation and compliance expectations
Identify AT QC Lab opportunities for adoption of responsible AI, GenAI, and advanced analytics. Ensure these solutions meet regulatory, ethical, and governance requirements and J&J standards.
Enable predictive quality analytics, intelligent automation, and AI-assisted compliance insights.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
5+ years of experience delivering LIMS and related Lab solutions in regulated GxP Life Sciences environments
Experience with Product Management and Agile methodology and delivering technologies using software defined lifecycle (SDLC)
Proven experience in collaborating with global and cross-functional teams.
Experience supporting Advanced Therapies, CAR‑T, or cell and gene therapy labs
Familiarity with enterprise integrations (MES, ERP, middleware/iPaaS)
Experience operating in Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical partners and to lead and empower teams, set the vision, drive technology strategy and roadmap, and build strong relationships.
Proven track record collaborating with business partners to translate needs into relevant technology platforms and solutions.
Ability to stay up to date on technology trends to identify and evaluate new technologies
Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and matrixed decision-making
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Role may require occasional international travel.
