The Technical Product Owner II serves as the primary representative of product stakeholders to engineering and architecture teams, ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives and customer needs. This role is responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog, translating strategic initiatives into actionable technical requirements, and partnering closely with Product Managers, stakeholders, and development teams to maximize product value.

The ideal candidate brings strong Agile product ownership experience, exceptional communication and influencing skills, and a deep understanding of software development, cloud modernization, APIs, and roadmap management. This role plays a key part in driving technology transformation initiatives, including cloud migration efforts and modern architecture strategies.

What You'll Do

• Translate business strategies, product vision, and business objectives into prioritized technical roadmaps and actionable requirements.

• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities, requirements, and product direction.

• Communicate product vision, goals, and business value to engineering and architecture teams.

• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring work is appropriately prioritized to maximize business value.

• Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iteration planning activities.

• Break down epics and features into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

• Validate completed work and manage story acceptance throughout the development lifecycle.

• Facilitate technology demonstrations and showcase completed functionality to stakeholders.

• Support technology modernization initiatives, including cloud migration strategies, microservices architecture, and API development efforts.

• Track and communicate product development progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery status to stakeholders and leadership.

• Participate in customer discussions to understand business challenges, identify opportunities, and ensure solutions deliver meaningful outcomes.

• Partner with Product Managers to develop and execute product strategies that drive customer value.

• Provide guidance and informal mentorship to less experienced Product Owners.

• Foster collaboration, engagement, and accountability across cross-functional teams.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Maintain a well-defined, accurate, and prioritized product roadmap and backlog.

• Ensure engineering teams are focused on delivering the highest-value product features and capabilities.

• Align product development efforts with strategic business goals and product vision.

• Create clear, value-driven user stories that provide meaningful business context and support effective solution design.

• Drive consistent Agile practices and product ownership standards across development teams.

• Maintain and optimize product management tools and processes to support efficient delivery.

• Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders while promoting effective Agile and SDLC practices.

• Support high-quality product delivery through backlog management, prioritization, communication, and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

• Three (3)+ years of experience working within Agile and SDLC environments, including user story creation and requirements management.

• Three (3)+ years of experience supporting large-scale development initiatives involving multiple Scrum teams and complex dependencies.

• Two (2)+ years of experience developing product roadmaps and utilizing requirements management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Aha!.

• Two (2)+ years of experience working with APIs, web services, and system integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAFe® certifications.

• Certified Product Owner certifications (CSPO, PSPO, CPO, or equivalent).

• Pragmatic Institute Product Management certifications.

• Cloud certifications, with Microsoft Azure certifications preferred.

• Experience supporting cloud migration, microservices, and API-driven architectures.

Work Environment

• Minimal travel required (up to 20%).

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Primarily office or remote-based work requiring extended computer use and participation in virtual and in-person meetings.
