We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Owner to lead the product vision and execution for our API integration team. In this critical role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, product, and technical teams in the IT ecosystem, ensuring that our API standards and methods meet the evolving needs of our organization.
As a Technical Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the API integration roadmap, aligning it with business goals, and driving the successful delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable APIs.

In this role, you will:
Define and Prioritize the API Integration Roadmap:

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable user stories and technical specifications.

Define and prioritize the API integration backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical feasibility, and overall product strategy.

Develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap for the API ecosystem, considering industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer feedback.
Facilitate Stakeholder Collaboration

Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met.

Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear and understandable terms.

Collaborate closely with the API Lead Architect and API Software Engineers to refine technical specifications, validate assumptions, and ensure that the APIs meet the requirements.

Responsible for defining API standards that include definitions for Contracts/Schemas, Protocol/Transport, Authentication/Authorization, Endpoints, Methods/Operations, Error Handling, Versioning, Documentation, Security enforcement, Rate Limiting/Quotas, Caching, Monitoring and Analytics
Drive Sprint Planning and Execution

Participate in sprint planning sessions, providing clarity on priorities, acceptance criteria, and technical constraints.

Attend daily stand-ups, providing guidance and addressing any impediments that may arise.

Facilitate sprint reviews and retrospectives, gathering feedback and ensuring continuous improvement.
Ensure Quality Assurance

Define and enforce quality standards for the APIs, encompassing performance, security, reliability, and adherence to best practices.

Work closely with QA teams to develop and execute test plans, ensuring the APIs meet the defined acceptance criteria and deliver a seamless user experience.

Monitor API usage and performance, using metrics and analytics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Provide Documentation and Training

Ensure comprehensive documentation of the APIs, including usage guides, technical references, best practices, and examples.

Provide training and support to internal teams and external partners on using and integrating with the APIs effectively.
Monitor and Optimize

Continuously monitor the performance and usage of the APIs, leveraging metrics and analytics to gain insights into user behavior and identify opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with the development team to optimize and enhance the APIs based on feedback, usage patterns, and evolving business needs.
Qualifications/Requirement
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
-
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, preferably with a focus on API products or integrations.

Strong technical background and understanding of API design principles, development methodologies, and integration patterns.

Familiarity with various API styles and standards (REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, gRPC, JSON-RPC, SOAP, Webhooks, OData).

Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, Gatling).

In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with API platforms (e.g., Mulesoft Anypoint, SAP BTP, Boomi, Workato).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger UI, Redocly).

Knowledge of API security best practices and authentication mechanism
