Optum is a global organization that delivers care, aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives. The work you do with our team will directly improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care, pharmacy benefits, data and resources they need to feel their best. Here, you will find a culture guided by diversity and inclusion, talented peers, comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities. Come make an impact on the communities we serve as you help us advance health equity on a global scale. Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together.
About The Role:
You will join the Claims Audit Platform (CAP) product and technology team within Payment Integrity, responsible for driving the end to end delivery of a largescale, multi year platform transformation. CAP is a strategic platform consolidating multiple legacy systems into a single, configurable solution spanning data ingestion, analytics, workflow, and reporting across various audit use cases.
The CAP team operates at the center of a highly complex delivery ecosystem partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Clinical Operations, Analytics, and Enterprise Technology. As a Technical PM on this team, you will help orchestrate execution across multiple CAP stack teams, manage cross program dependencies, align roadmaps and milestones, and ensure delivery stays tightly connected to both platform strategy and operational outcomes.
This role sits in a highly visible, matrixed environment where technical program leadership, disciplined execution, and proactive risk management are critical. The team values solid ownership, clear communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while balancing near term delivery pressures with long term platform scalability and modernization goals.
Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.
What You'll Do:
As a Technical Product Manager on CAP, you will serve as a delivery leader across complex, cross functional initiatives that span product, engineering, and operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Own and manage the execution backlog, including story intake, refinement, and readiness, ensuring work is well defined, prioritized, and aligned to program objectives
  • Drive prioritization in partnership with Product Management by balancing platform strategy, operational needs, dependencies, and delivery capacity
  • Lead requirements gathering and translation of business and operational needs into clear epics, features, and user stories for engineering teams
  • Partner closely with Scrum teams to plan, sequence, and track work across sprints, maintaining accountability for delivery commitments and outcomes
  • Actively manage cross team dependencies, risks, and milestones to keep delivery on track across multiple CAP stack teams
  • Facilitate and contribute to Program Increment (PI) Planning, aligning teams around goals, scope, and delivery plans
  • Engage senior stakeholders with clear communication on progress, risks, tradeoffs, and delivery status in a highly matrixed environment

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Healthcare, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering complex products or initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience defining product strategy and driving end-to-end execution
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across multiple teams and senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience working within Agile software development practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and make sound prioritization decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, customer insight, and business context to guide decision-making
  • Proven experience incorporating AI or advanced analytics into product capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Product certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, or similar
  • Proven experience in US healthcare, particularly around claim and provider data
  • Demonstrated experience in product ownership supporting multiple Scrum teams
  • Demonstrated familiarity with cloud based, data intensive, or AI enabled platforms
