A Technical Product Manager specializing in the technical facets of limit switches, valves, communications and controls. This role requires a strong background in controls and communications technology, and translating business needs into technical requirements, collaborating with customers, engineering teams, and ensuring products are technically feasible and meet customer requirements.
As a member of the Valmet Valve Controls & Actuators Team, the Stonel Technical Product Manager, Stonel will be a technical and commercial resource for the assigned products with the support of local and global team members as needed.
Provide applications support to Customers and Channel Representatives, for all products assigned
For assigned products, support for technical returns. Includes failure evaluation, co-ordination with other technical resources within North America, and globally.
Provide field support and product training to Inside Sales, Service Centers, and representative/distributor personnel (both existing and new products).
Travel to customer and channel locations as needed for technical presentations and sales support activities.
Configure products and create BOMs using ATON/Epic/M3 and all additional Engineering and ERP System modules
Support global Sales using Tacton/CPQ, and/or other quotation systems/modules
Design and modify existing product offerings to meet customer-specific needs; create Manufacturing work instructions and test procedures for ‘special’ products; create Engineering procedures
Provide applications support to Valmet inside and outside sales personnel (customer service, project management, KAM’s, ASM’s, RSD’s, end customers).
Provide input to product technical requirements and customer applications, including certifications, hazardous locations, and specifications to meet customer applications.
To succeed in this role you will need
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent education with relevant industry experience) with strong preference for Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree.
2 to 5 years’ experience in a related engineering field
Aptitude to rapidly grasp technical knowledge of assigned product
Ability to troubleshoot products and perform failure analysis
Up to 35% Travel is required, at times on short notice
