Role Description

The Network Engineering team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. GFiber's complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies.

In this role, you'll:

  • Coordinate all project engineering activities with the OSP network team, including progress and financial reporting, invoice review, and change management.
  • Manage vendor production to ensure adherence to guidelines and standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly execute network designs.
  • Support network planning activities by managing the planning of new huts and coordinating dark fiber leases with internal and external stakeholders.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing large, complex outside plant (OSP) or Fiber to the Home (FTTH) engineering and construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of fiber optic network infrastructure, including OSP/ISP engineering, design, and construction, with the ability to manage scalable build processes and an understanding of Make Ready Engineering practices (NESC, NEC, GO-95).

It's preferred if you have:

  • 10 years of experience managing large, complex outside plant (OSP) or Fiber to the Home (FTTH) engineering projects.
  • 5 years of experience managing and leading teams of more than 5 people.
  • Experience in contract and vendor management, including defining the scope of work and ensuring quality control.
  • Familiarity with both aerial and underground construction methods.
  • Proficiency in capital budget management.
  • Knowledge of analyzing fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance with scopes of work, along with familiarity with OSP equipment and materials.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 - $143,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
