About Timescapes Ltd.

Founded in New Zealand in 2017, Timescapes is a visual progress monitoring solution for complex construction projects. Our mission is to help construction teams build more quickly and safely, without compromising on quality or environmental consciousness. Our customers love Timescapes because it helps them stay on schedule, and provides complete transparency for all parties involved in a construction project.

We’re a rapidly growing company, and are used by some of the largest construction firms across Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. We’re deliberate and thoughtful in everything that we do, and we emphasise awareness, care and quality in our approach to product development.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join us as a Technical Operations Assistant. We utilise advanced camera systems and cutting-edge analytics to provide our clients with real-time insights, helping them complete projects faster and more efficiently. This hands-on role is crucial to the deployment and maintenance of our camera fleet. You will be responsible for the physical preparation, assembly, tracking, and logistics of our specialised technology units, ensuring they are ready to be deployed to construction sites across the country.

This is initially a 3-month part-time role with the possibility of extension based on business needs. This opportunity may suit a recent Graduate or current University Student.

Working Hours:

  • 4 hours per day, 5 days per week (20 hours per week total).
  • Flexibility to be able to work outside of standard business hours from time to time to ensure crossover with Australia, Vancouver and Toronto.
Key Responsibilities

 1. Technical Preparation & Assembly

  • Refurbishment and Maintenance: Systematically clean, test, and refurbish returned camera units, ensuring they meet quality standards for redeployment.
  • Component Replacement: Diagnose and replace faulty or worn components within camera units (e.g., batteries, mounting brackets, minor electronic parts).
  • New Unit Assembly: Accurately assemble new camera units according to technical specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

2. Inventory & Asset Management

  • ERP Utilisation: Use our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software Odoo to meticulously track the movement of camera units as they are received, refurbished, assembled, and shipped out.
  • Stock Control: Assist with physical inventory counts and maintain a clean, organised, and accurate inventory area for parts and finished units.

3. Logistics & Shipping

  • Shipping Coordination: Prepare camera units for shipment, including secure packaging, labeling, and necessary documentation.
  • Logistics Platforms: Utilise various online logistics and courier platforms to book, process, and manage shipments.
  • Shipment Tracking: Proactively monitor camera shipments, coordinating with carriers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and resolve any logistical delays.

Requirements
  • Education: Currently pursuing a university degree or recently graduated (relevant fields include Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, IT, or a related technical discipline).
  • Hands-on Aptitude: Proven mechanical or technical aptitude; comfortable using basic tools for assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organisational skills and a meticulous approach to work, especially in inventory tracking and assembly.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with standard office software and picking up new systems.
  • Communication: Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Highly Desirable

  • ERP Experience: Prior experience, even basic, with any inventory/asset management or ERP software is a significant plus but not necessary.
  • Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial shipping processes and online logistics portals.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot minor technical and logistical issues independently.

Benefits
  • The chance to work at the intersection of technology and construction in a fast-growing, innovative, global company.
  • A hands-on role where you will contribute directly to the successful deployment of our product.
  • Mentorship and training from experienced technical and operations professionals.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate university schedules (if applicable).
