Technical Manager - Site GNV
The Site Technical Manager provides strong people leadership, problem solving and project management skills to ensure the maintenance, utilities, & buildings/grounds functions meet their short- and long-term business commitments. This role will manage and improve Operational Risks, Equipment Reliability, and System Integrity. Role will ensure the integrity of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and analyze data from the CMMS to proactively prevent equipment failures.
The position will build and support Maintenance Excellence Principles, ensure Planning and Scheduling best practices, improve Storeroom management systems, and actively develop Technical Talent for the organization. This role will manage both internal and external resources to support activities on the site and actively participates and contributes to the site’s Reliability Improvement Strategy and Continuous Improvement program. This role is a key member of the Site Leadership Team.
What are we looking for?
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (preferred disciplines in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering) or minimum of 7 years of related Management experience in a manufacturing/ technical environment considered.
Minimum 5 in Technical Management and/or Maintenance positions in a food- manufacturing or Consumer Package Goods (CPG) environment.
Solid successful track record of high-speed packaging and high-volume processing equipment management.
Knowledge and experience with advanced maintenance management practices is preferred.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/ initiatives within budget limits.
Travel as required
What will your key responsibilities be?
Manage direct reports to ensure maintenance best practices are being followed and developed. Ensure that each report has results-based objectives, timely performance reviews, and appropriate career development counselling.
- Technically support maintenance, utilities, & building/grounds team leaders and technicians in performing necessary tasks.
- Ensure that each maintenance, utilities, & buildings/grounds associate has the necessary skills to meet their job expectations and develop a detailed improvement program where necessary.
- Actively participate and collaborate with all functional areas to provide continuous improvement activities for Safety/Health/Environment (HSE), Quality and Food Safety (Q&FS) Schedule Attainment (SA), TRS, Process Reliability (PR), Productivity, and Non-Quality Cost (NQC).
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive reliability improvement program, which will ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable method with an emphasis on proactive and predictive maintenance processes and practices.
- Responsible for the utilities (energy, water, air, steam, wastewater) in the factory to provide seamless and uninterrupted operations. Ensure systems and associates support regulatory compliance through effective maintenance practices.
- Manage Maintenance costs to ensure the budgeting process is accurate and the department meets the business requirements.
- Ensures an effective CMMS is in place that will focus resources where needed and document problem resolutions.
- Lead the site in respect to reliability issues, Engineering projects, cost effectiveness and safety requirements.
- Develop and sustain maintenance predictive technology strategies to provide a proactive maintenance culture.
- Active and contributing member of the site leadership team. Supports the site strategy, deploys resources appropriately and collaborates with other members of the leadership team while delivering the strategy.
- Active and contributing member of the MCNA Maintenance Community of Practice (CoP) by sharing expertise / information, developing regional standards and implementing agreed MCNA standards.
