Lead Technical Excellence in Organic Certification
Location: Flexible - preference for Auckland, Hamilton or Christchurch
AsureQuality is seeking an experienced Technical Manager – Organics to provide technical leadership and oversight across our organic certification programmes. This is a key role responsible for ensuring programme integrity, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and strong stakeholder relationships within New Zealand's growing organic sector.
Working closely with regulators, standard owners, industry bodies, producers, processors, and certification partners, you'll help ensure our programmes continue to deliver trusted certification outcomes while supporting the future growth of the organic industry.
QualificationsAbout You
You are a highly credible technical professional with experience in certification, compliance, auditing, quality systems, or assurance programmes. You enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders and can confidently interpret standards and technical requirements while providing practical guidance and leadership.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Food Technology, Science, Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a technical, certification, quality, compliance, or assurance role.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and certification processes.
- Experience interpreting and applying standards, regulations, and technical requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, sound judgement, and problem-solving capability.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly to a variety of audiences.
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Knowledge and experience within the organic production, processing, or certification sector.
- Experience with organic standards and certification schemes.
- Product certification experience, including auditing, assessment, or programme management.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and accreditation requirements.
- Experience working with regulators, accreditation bodies, industry groups, or standard owners.
- Auditor qualifications or certification experience within food, agriculture, horticulture, manufacturing, or related sectors.
