Summary Generated by Built In

ON.energy is building the power infrastructure that makes the AI era possible. As AI demand surges past what the grid and traditional data centers can support, ON.energy provides a new class of power technology proven at gigawatt scale and trusted by the world’s leading cloud and AI companies. Our systems are already deployed across 2.5 GW of hyper-scale campuses, validated by top U.S. national labs, and certified for grid-safe operation by major utilities. With real products in the field, we’re scaling faster than the grid can, transforming power from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage for the companies building the future.

Role Overview

The Technical Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the field and sales technical issues, risks and product feedback via Azure Dev Ops. In addition to the end to end project related solution deployment, from Phase 1 (concept) through Phase 5 (sustaining). This role combines rigorous technical management with product solution deployment and requirement engineering. You will be responsible for translating complex specifications into actionable requirements, managing the verification process.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Flow & Ticket Management
  • Azure DevOps Governance: Manage all site technical issues, risks and product feedback and requests. Ensuring that critical issues/requests are triaged and resolved by the engineering team within target timeframes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use data from field to inform future product requirements, closing the loop between "real-world failure" and "new-product design."
  1. Lifecycle Project Management (Phase 1–5)
  • Phase-Gate Oversight: Support the product development from Phase 1 (Concept design) through Phase 5 (Sustaining), ensuring all gate criteria are met.
  • Technical Orchestration: Align the efforts of the Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to ensure cross-functional design consistency and manage requirements.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify technical bottlenecks early in the development cycle and develop contingency plans to keep projects on schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Self-Directed Leadership: Proven ability to operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced environment, taking full ownership of project outcomes without requiring day-to-day oversight.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related technical field).
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Engineering, and technical program/project management, specifically in hardware-centric industries (Energy Storage, Power Conversion, or Power Generation).
  • Requirements Mastery: Preferably experience creating and managing product requirement and managing technical documentation.
  • Systems Expert: Preferably experience in Azure DevOps (Boards, Backlogs, and Dashboards) for managing both support tickets and project tasks.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to influence senior Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and communicate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Decisive Ownership: Demonstrated extreme ownership mindset, with a track record of driving complex technical programs to completion by proactively engaging stakeholders and clearing blockers before they impact the schedule.
