Essential Responsibilities
The Gas Turbine Performance Design & Methods team is seeking a Senior Professional Band Technical Leader to lead a team of engineers in the design, characterization and validation of transient thermal performance and operability of heavy-duty gas turbines.
As the Technical Leader, Transient Engine Analysis, you will:
- Provide technical leadership and work direction for engineers in transient thermal cycle modeling and analysis.
- Deliver control solutions that ensure robust operation during transient gas turbine conditions.
- Define and deliver transient cycle profiles in support of product design and equipment sizing activities
- Characterize HDGT thermal cycle behavior through transient events such as start-up, shutdown, offline trips and other grid transients
- Lead control optimization efforts to maximize product value while balancing competing product requirements.
- Communicate HDGT operability risks and opportunities to the broader commercial and engineering organizations
- Communicate resource and technical issues to leadership team
- Support gas turbine validation testing, field tuning and product services both in Greenville and at remote customer sites.
- Develop skills and competencies of team members. Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Continuously improve organizational workflow and processes using lean methodologies.
- Develop and protect the Intellectual Property rights of GE Vernova.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of 6 years gas turbine related engineering experience
Desired Characteristics
- Master's Degree / PhD in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years gas turbine performance and/or operability analysis experience
- Minimum of 2 years gas turbine hardware design or analysis experience
- Familiarity with the current lineup of HA-class gas turbine product offerings
- Demonstrated design creativity and problem-solving capability
- Design of experiment and numerical optimization experience
- Influencing, leadership and project management skills
- Strong communication, organizational and mentoring skills
- Edison Engineering Development Program graduate

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
