The company ingests billing and usage data from all cloud, SaaS, and PaaS providers, organizes it in real-time according to the customers’ business structures, lets customers view it at any level of time or resource granularity, and ultimately empowers them to make more informed business decisions.

Challenge
As a Technical Leader, you will lead a small team of 3-4 offshore developers in building and maintaining "billing adapters," critical components that enable our platform to integrate new sources of cost data from various vendors, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and other cost-generating services. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management responsibilities. This new team will be responsible for writing many more of these billing adapters over the coming months.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage a team of 3-4 offshore developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and project coordination
- Build and maintain billing adapters that integrate with various vendor APIs to extract cost and usage data
- Design data pipelines to transform vendor-specific billing data into CloudZero's proprietary internal data format
- Collaborate closely with the company's Product Management and Engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Ensure code quality through best practices, testing, and documentation standards across the team
- Manage project timelines and coordinate with stakeholders on delivery milestones
- Prototype and evaluate different technical approaches for new vendor integrations
- Mentor team members and help scale their technical capabilities
- Participate in architecture decisions for the billing adapter framework
In order to succeed in this position, you will need:
Mandatory skills
- 5+ years of Python experience with strong proficiency in backend development
- 3+ years of team leadership experience managing remote/distributed development
teams
- Experience with API integrations and working with various vendor billing/usage APIs
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, particularly Lambda, S3, and data processing
services
- Experience with data transformation and ETL processes
- Familiarity with cloud cost management concepts and billing structures
- Understanding of SaaS platform architecture and scalable system design
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- It must be okay with some overlap with the US East Coast time zone.
Nice to have
- Previous experience with cost management or FinOps platforms
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other Saas Services billing APIs or data
- Background in financial data processing or billing systems
