Real-Time Optimization Project Lead using AVEVA™ Process Optimization Software
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia/ Singapore
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Consultant to spearhead real-time optimization projects for refinery and petrochemical operations using AVEVA™ Process Optimization software. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end implementation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support presales activities. This role requires a strong background in process engineering, simulation tools, and optimization technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation
Participating in project kickoff and design specification meetings
Lead the preparation and review of Functional Design Specification (FDS)
Configure AVEVA™ Process Optimization applications
Conduct model reviews and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Oversee site commissioning and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Prepare comprehensive project documentation
Training & Support
Deliver user training sessions
Provide ongoing application support (on-site and remote)
Presales Engagement
Collaborate with the sales team to develop technical proposals
Assist in cost estimation and solution scoping
Demonstrate commercial awareness by supporting value-based engagements, including value articulation, benefits tracking, and alignment to commercial outcomes
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel up to 30% (domestic and international) during project execution and presales support
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemical Engineering
5+ years of experience in real-time optimization systems
Minimum 8 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, or EPC sectors
Hands-on experience with process simulators (e.g., PRO/II, HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PetroSIM)
Strong collaboration skills across functions including Advanced Process Controls (APC)
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Preferred
Familiarity with refining economics and enterprise-level optimization
Knowledge of Advanced Process Control (APC)
Exposure to enterprise/site-level network architecture
Proficiency in VBA macros
Experience with plant data systems (e.g., OSI PI, Honeywell PHD, LIMS)
