Our team has built a Simulation City (https://waymo.com/blog/2021/07/simulation-city/) that helps Waymo scale up to 10M+ autonomous miles and now we want to scale up 10x more! Our team will directly impact on Waymo business by faster ODD expansion and help scale to brand new geographies. We fuel faster growth for Waymo and push the state of the art in the field.
You will:
- As a tech lead and machine learning mastermind, you will be the main contributor developing Generative AI-driven solutions for perception simulation
- Work on the solutions and product landings by developing Deep Learning algorithms and productization
- Be responsible for the next-level scope in Generative AI solutions for generating sensor data
You have:
- M.S. in Computer Science (or related fields) with 10 years work experience
- 5+ years experience in developing, optimizing, evaluating, and deploying ML algorithms into large-scale software systems.
- Direct experience in Generative AI, including multi-modal foundation models and Diffusion models
- Academic background and industry experience in one or more related fields: Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics & Rendering;
We Prefer:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science (or related fields) and 7 years work experience;
- 3+ years' experience in simulation, perception, autonomous driving, and robotics;
- Strong background in perception related domains, such as transformer modeling, model scaling, self-supervised learning
- Publications at top-tier conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, ICRA, RSS, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCV, PAMI

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
