About the Role:
This role requires a hands-on technical leader to manage and grow a data infrastructure engineering team. The ideal candidate will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data processing and batch systems to support the data needs of a growing organization. Effective collaboration with Product, Data Science, and ML teams is also essential.
Responsibilities:
- Data Infrastructure:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for several key functions related to large scale data processing and ads batch processing.
- Support data needs of internal and external customers of a growing organization.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and distributed systems.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Hands on technical leader.
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Set clear goals, and drive performance.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop top engineering talent.
- Collaborate effectively with Product, Data Science and ML engineering teams
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience in building large-scale data pipelines
- Experience in ingesting and streaming data at scale
- Experience in implementing data governance practices (data catalog, lineage, access control, compliance, etc.)
- Experience in serving data of reporting, billing, analytics, etc.
- Experience with database schema design.
- Tech stack: BigQuery, Bigtable, Dataflow, Airflow, Apache Beam/Spark, Terraform, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Redis, GCS, Data Catalog/Lineage frameworks, DBT, Golang, Python, Java
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of industry experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- 2+ years of management experience leading and managing high performing engineering organizations.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Experience in AdTech
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at a fast paced startup environment.
- Deep experience with GCP
- Familiarity with data processing for ML
