General Summary:
The Technical Lead for Digital Process Automation (DPA) will oversee and support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of automation solutions using Blue Prism, ABBYY OCR, and Power Automate. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving efficiency, innovation, and seamless integration of automation technologies into our business processes. This position combines technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to deliver robust automation solutions that align with organizational goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership
- Act as the primary technical expert for Blue Prism, ABBYY OCR, and Power Automate platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, DPA Intake Lead, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
- Provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and technical design principles to the development team.
2. Automation Support
- Assist with the implementation and troubleshooting robotic process automation (RPA) workflows with Blue Prism.
- Assist with the implementation and troubleshooting intelligent document processing solutions using ABBYY OCR.
3. Team Management & Collaboration
- In partnership with Digital Process Automation Team members ensure the alignment of automation strategies with business objectives.
- Work closely with application owners to ensure API/connections are secure and stable
4. Platform Administration
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of Blue Prism, ABBYY OCR, and Power Automate environments.
- Govern the Power Automate/Power Apps platform to ensure proper use.
- Work closely with DTE Compliance, Internal Audit, InfoSec and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and GxP regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure system stability and security.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on advancements in automation technologies, trends, and tools.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across the organization.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, user guides, and technical documentation.
Knowledge and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience with Robotic Process Automation (or more intelligent/cognitive automation) along with basic understanding of key concepts related to Software Development Life Cycle, Information Security, and Digital Transformation.
- Knowledge of API integration and web services.
- Understanding of database concepts and SQL.
- Ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks.
- Self-starter capable to take on initiative and work with minimal direction.
- Experience working with IT managed services or outsourced/offshore teams.
- Superior MS Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent
- 6 years relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Blue Prism Developer/Architect Certification
- Experience with ABBYY Vantage or FineReader
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem
- Experience with GxP validation concepts
- Exposure to working in Agile environment
Flex Designation:
Hybrid-Eligible Or On-Site Eligible
Flex Eligibility Status:
In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
