The Role

Job Description:

The Technical Implementation Architect’s (TIA) role is a critical component to the overall execution of the operations organization. The TIA is a cross functional, architectural resource primarily focused on ensuring the graceful transition between pre-sales solutions engineering and technical implementation teams.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Engage with Solutions Engineers on pre-sales designs to ensure designs have a valid path to implementation
  • Participate in project kickoff calls to understand customer requirements and identify the necessary implementation engineers required
  • Work with Product Managers and Product Design to become the Subject Matter Expert on Flexential product offering capabilities
  • Create and present logical/physical diagrams and other engineering artifacts to support implementation of customer orders
  • Engage with operational teams to ensure best practices to customer environments and projects
  • Utilize technical credibility, leadership and interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships
  • Work alongside of the Sales team and Technical Account Manager to be a technical advisor and advocate for your assigned customer accounts.
  • Post sales ownership of the overall solution design and technical implementation for your assigned projects
  • Regularly take part in deep-dive design exercises.
  • Subject Matter Expert for Networking and Interconnection, including Hyperscaler on-ramp, complex SDWAN and WAN connectivity for our customers and local networking
  • Coordination with other Flexential teams and third-party partners.
  • Position may be required to work weekends or nights to execute maintenance activities
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant complex IT engineering experience in the areas of virtualization, networking, DR, storage, and compute technologies
  • 4+ years experience with Zerto or other BC/DR technologies.
  • 3+ years of industry relevant consulting or solutions engineering
  • A demonstrated ability to present written and verbal solutions to a wide range of audiences - C-level through engineering.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and technical teams
  • A demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products and technical challenges
  • Experience designing, delivering, and presenting technical solutions using industry best practices
  • Executive-level oral and written communication skills. Able to present to an audience of key executives and/or decision-makers clearly and engagingly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VMware NSX
  • Experience with EMC, Netapp, Infinidat, Hitachi and/or Object Storage platforms a plus
  • NSE, CCNA, CCNP, VCP, VCIX, or equivalent certifications
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Hyperscaler connectivity knowledge including AWS, Azure, Google
  • Hyperscaler networking certifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time 
  • Walk or Stand for 15% of the time 
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage 
  • Lift 25 lbs. 
  • Travel 5% of the time

Base Pay Range:

  • Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be ($97,600 - $115,000). However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
